Cardano Constitutional Convention 2024
Project The Cardano Constitutional Convention 2024 was a landmark event in blockchain history, marking the culmination of a two-year global effort to draft the Cardano Constitution, the governance framework for a fully decentralised network. Held simultaneously in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Nairobi, Kenya, the convention brought together elected delegates from around the world to collectively shape Cardano’s future. I was honoured to be part of CC2024 in Buenos Aires and to collaborate with the talented team at Input | Output on this groundbreaking moment for the ecosystem.
Challenge The challenge was to give physical form to a deeply abstract, community-led process. Governance is invisible, distributed, and complex; the design needed to make it tangible and felt. The environment had to support deliberation, consensus-building, and ceremony, while maintaining a sense of openness and inclusivity across cultures, disciplines, and viewpoints.
My Role I developed the creative concept, spatial design, and artwork that shaped the visual and experiential identity of the convention. Working closely with the Input | Output and community teams, I translated themes of decentralisation, participation, and shared authorship into a coherent physical language that guided delegates through debates, workshops, and the constitutional signing ceremony.
Results & Impact The convention marked a historic milestone in Web3 governance, culminating in the community approval of the draft Constitution and reinforcing Cardano’s leadership in decentralised decision-making. The experience concluded with a gala dinner in Buenos Aires, blending culture and celebration with achievement, and highlighting the human relationships underpinning decentralised systems. Through design, a complex governance process was transformed into a shared, memorable moment in the evolution of the Cardano network.
