Lomy Medium by Etherin
LOMY is an interpretation of gravitation.
The gravitational attraction of the sun and moon results in the tides on earth. It acts at a distance, without physical contact. When one rises, the other one goes down. In the same way when viewed from different perspectives, a Lomy lamp provides an interpretation of the natural gravitation in nature. Based on Fibonacci sequence, the geometric bamboo construction is made by artisans in East Java, and then blended with pioneering sustainable technology, the best quality LEDs and robust wireless control.
Lomy Medium
The ethereal form has two opposite bamboo caps which direct light upwards and downwards. The upward cap which points to the ceiling creates diffused ambient light, while concentrated zonal light is achieved with the downwards facing cup. Each Lomy lamp has 60 cm of cable allowing you to regulate the length and orientation for any space. Medium is available in two lighting technology versions:
1. Dimmable via Bluetooth with the Casambi app - the drive located within the false ceiling.
2. Not dimmable option with the drive located within the ceiling rose.

How Etherin makes Lomy
After drying under the sun in an Indonesian jungle, artisans who make the bamboo part, cut it into very fine strips. Then, using a traditional handmade eco-friendly technique they begin to create the bamboo shape around a central axe. The bamboo strips are rolled to create a flat plate, after that all the strips of it are shifted one on top of the other, around a central axe, until the final concentric shape is formed. The geometric form is then hand sanded and bonded before finally leaving it to dry under the burning sun.

The bamboo element is made by hand - no two Lomy lamps are exactly the same. The lamps are also hand assembled in Italy, where the bamboo form and sustainable lighting technology are brought together resulting in an object of worldly blended beauty.
Sustainable technology
To achieve lasting light efficiency for Lomy, Etherin designed a pioneering circular Printed Circuit Board (PCB), that sits on an anodised aluminium support to improve heat exchange and transfer. The best quality LEDs from Osram and Lumileds have been selected and a bespoke electric cable integrated with a stainless steel wire has been created. Each component is measured, designed and selected to deliver the best quality.
