Nuage . lamp

Project Nuage is a poetic pendant exploring weightlessness. Inspired by a sun hat tossed in the air, it blends the structural elegance of high fashion with the warmth of interior lighting. The design freezes a moment of movement, bringing a Mediterranean breeze into the home.

Challenge We needed a large silhouette that felt visually light, not dominating. The hurdle was shaping a rigid material to look like fluid fabric—ensuring the "brim" maintained its undulating wave without sagging, while allowing light to filter through softly.

My Role I led the design development, focusing on the interplay between the opal glass diffuser and the woven shade. I refined the weave density to hold the shape while letting the "sun" glow through, and engineered the brim’s geometry to ensure dynamic views from every angle.

Results & Impact Nuage defines a space without overcrowding it. It provides functional downward light for dining and an atmospheric ambient glow on the ceiling. The design transforms a static object into a playful character, adding a touch of summer nostalgia to modern interiors.
