Parlight . Balustrade

Project Parlight is a bespoke steel balustrade system designed for HS Design. It serves as a defining architectural element, developed to provide a secure barrier that complements modern, industrial interiors.

Challenge The engineering challenge was to span significant widths, ranging from 3 to 5 meters without using a central support pillar. The goal was to eliminate visual clutter and maintain structural rigidity without relying on bulky vertical reinforcements.

Design I engineered a high-strength steel solution finished in matt black. By optimizing the material’s structural properties, the design allows for a slim, elegant profile that remains fully self-supporting across the entire length, despite the lack of intermediate columns.

Results & Impact The final installation achieves a "floating" aesthetic, balancing heavy-duty strength with visual lightness. The uninterrupted span creates a clear, open sightline, successfully meeting safety standards while enhancing the sense of space.
