Portland wall . Innermost

Project Portland Wall adapts James Bartlett’s iconic pendant into a surface-mounted fixture for Innermost. The goal was to translate the faceted, rough-cast concrete "jewel" aesthetic into a functional sconce that perfectly complements the original hanging series.

Challenge Adapting a heavy, gravity-dependent form for vertical mounting was the primary hurdle. We had to engineer a robust system to support the cast concrete weight while keeping the fixture flush and the hardware completely invisible.

My Role I led the 3D design and technical engineering to bring the concept to production. I solved the weight distribution and installation mechanics, ensuring the wall version retained the exact sharp lines and contrasting interior "DNA" of the original.

Results & Impact The design completed the collection, offering a cohesive "kit of parts" for interiors. It successfully extended the brand's reach into corridors and hospitality projects, bringing the raw, tactile beauty of concrete to vertical surfaces.
